About

Many children and adolescents from low-income families in Uganda lack access to quality education due to unaffordable educational materials, inadequate school infrastructure, and limited access to computer/ICT skills resulting in significant educational inequalities and poor learning outcomes.

Tutorfinda project aims at creating sustainable learning opportunities for underserved children and youth, enabling them to access quality education equal to their peers. The project was started in February 2023 and it’s legally registered under a social enterprise called Tutorfinda Technologies limited which was founded and established in December 2022 in Uganda.

The project focuses on making social impact. It mainly targets Underserved children,  Underserved Youth, Underserved schools, Teachers and Underserved communities.

To create sustainable learning opportunities for underserved children and youth, providing affordable educational resources, qualified teachers, and essential skills training, empowering them to access quality education equal to their peers.

Goal

To bridge educational gaps, ensuring equal access to quality learning opportunities.

Objectives

  • To increase access to quality education for 2,000 underserved children and youth within 12 months.
  • To provide affordable educational resources and training to 1,500 underserved children and youth within 9 months.
  • To enhance digital literacy among 2,000 underserved children and youth through computer/ICT skills training within 15 months.
  • To establish 2 learning centers in underserved communities, serving 1,000 children and youth within 18 months.

Main Activities

Tutorfinda project main activities carried out to achieve its objectives are as shown below:

Providing underserved children with affordable educational materials

This involves visiting underserved schools to provide underserved children with affordable educational materials like books for reading and homework practice.

Training underserved children computer/ICT skills

This involves visiting underserved schools to train underserved children computer/ICT skills.

Training teachers computer/ICT skills

This involves visiting underserved schools to training teachers computer/ICT skills so that they can train other underserved children.

Connecting qualified teachers to underserved schools at no cost

Teachers looking for jobs reach out to us and we freely connect them to available underserved schools to teach. This is also done through our Tutorfinda Mobile App where teacher join and schools get them from the App.

Training underserved youth social entrepreneurship and computer/ICT skills

This involves recruiting underserved youth between (18-30) years to train them social entrepreneurship and computer/ICT skills.

Tutorfinda App

Tutorfinda Mobile App was launched under Tutorfinda project to ease access to teachers and educational materials anywhere. It connects learners to teachers, teachers to teaching jobs at no cost.

Impact

Tutorfinda project has reached and impacted 3,323 underserved children from 43 underserved schools, 51 underserved youth, and 108 teachers as shown below:
